A family-run container storage company committed to delivering top-notch self-storage solutions and exceptional customer service in the Exeter region recently approached needing help to boost their online enquiries

In January 2023, we began looking at the current site and started focusing on what work was needed. Here were our initial strategies…

We first began with keyword research; we were able to build a solid picture of what opportunities were available. For the quick wins, we tackled a metadata refresh and optimised header tags. We also implemented an internal linking structure to help both users and Google find relevant content. From there, we also boosted their presence with customers, both existing and potential, with refinement of social media meta data and cleaning up two Google My Business listings. SEO isn’t a quick fix, but this was a strong start for the first month. Here’s how we built on this over the following four months…

With SEO, it’s consistent quality work over a long period of time to gain the most out of it. Therefore, in the first few months, there were two elements we really wanted to focus on, good quality content and link building, we believed that this was lacking the most for MG Exeter. We pushed massively on delivering SEO-optimised blog posts and link-building activities such as citations and guest posting.

After 5 months of work and constant optimising, here are the results…

We didn’t stop there.

The site was built very badly on Wix, a platform which is fine to use, but this setup in particular didn’t allow us any flexibility with our SEO initiatives. Mark, MG Self Storage’s owner and Amax Marketing thought this site needs a new look. The mission was to make it easier for the client to edit anything himself and make it more user-friendly. This resulted in a higher increase of engagement, reduced bounce rate & improve the site speed dramatically.
